Vision Statement
I am a teacher who loves to learn. I am now turning that love of learning into leadership. I believe in instruction that is relevant, rigorous, and intentionally designed. I believe that every child who walks into my school building deserves the opportunity interact with at least one adult who cares about her and reminds him that he has the potential for greatness. I believe in investing in people: developing teachers so they have what they need to teach and nurturing students so they are eager to seize the opportunity to learn.
- I believe that rigorous instruction is good for all students.
- I believe in deep understanding of concepts that stretch across disciplines.
- I believe learning should be tied to real life.
- I believe that relationships are key, and that children and adults both need to feel loved and valued in school.
- I believe that character and affective skills are just as important as academic content.
- I believe that every student deserves a well-prepared teacher.
- I believe in the professionalism of teachers and support their right to make instructional decisions.
- I believe that public education is the cornerstone upon which a great society should be built.
